For more than 40 years, Covid has designed and manufactured innovative AV connectivity solutions used in classrooms, conference rooms, courtrooms, auditoriums, hospitals, houses of worship, and government facilities. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This is a hands-on role ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with transactional data, solving problems, and supporting a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and helping ensure the integrity of financial information throughout the organization. The position works closely with management and other departments to support accounting, inventory, payroll, and compliance activities. Responsibilities General Accounting Prepare and post journal entries. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Assist with monthly and year-end close activities. Perform balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations. Support preparation of financial reports and schedules. Assist with audit and tax preparation activities. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Review, code, and process vendor invoices. Maintain accurate accounts payable records and vendor files. Assist with customer invoicing, cash application, and collections activities. Investigate and resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies. Inventory & Cost Accounting Assist with inventory reconciliations and inventory transaction reviews. Support inventory cycle counts and physical inventory processes. Help analyze inventory variances and cost-related transactions. Maintain accurate inventory accounting records within the ERP system. Payroll & Compliance Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations. Support sales tax reporting and compliance activities. Maintain accounting records in accordance with company policies and accepted accounting practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2-5 years of accounting experience. Experience with inventory accounting in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis functions. Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a plus. Understanding of GAAP principles, payroll processing, and sales tax compliance.
