Job DescriptionJob Description Senior Accountant Well established and highly respected Tucson-based organization within the residential construction industry is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This position offers strong long-term career growth with a planned succession path into the Controller role within approximately two years due to an upcoming retirement. Compensation Base Salary:
$80,000 - $90,000 Bonus Opportunity Comprehensive benefits package Position Overview The Senior Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company while working closely with executive leadership and ownership. The role will be heavily involved in month-end close, financial reporting, job cost analysis, budgeting support, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and interested in growing into a future leadership position. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Perform account reconciliations and general ledger analysis Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting Analyze job costing, project profitability, and construction-related financial activity Assist with audit preparation and coordination with external CPA firms Identify opportunities for process improvements and internal controls Support leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project management, and ownership teams Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA or MBA a plus Construction, real estate development, or homebuilding industry experience preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills required ERP/accounting software proficiency required Strong communication and organizational skills Desire and ability to grow into a future Controller-level position Additional Information This is a confidential search being conducted on behalf of our client.
