$100,000 - $105,000 annually (salaried) Position Overview A growing managed services organization (MSO) in California is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to support continued growth within the healthcare industry. This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager and plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and healthcare regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing timely and accurate financial statements, supporting audits, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities. Core Values Put Patients First Empower Entrepreneurial Provider and Care Teams Operate with Integrity and Excellence Be Innovative Work as One Team Key Responsibilities Oversee timely cash deposits and maintain accurate accounting records Keep the Accounting Manager informed of relevant financial matters Prepare and post monthly journal entries with complete supporting documentation Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate cash balances Ensure monthly balance sheet account reconciliations are completed accurately and on time Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports in accordance with
U.S. GAAP
Oversee accurate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses in compliance with established policies and procedures Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met Assist with preparation and submission of quarterly and annual reports required by the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) Submit required financial reports to health plans Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance (flux) analysis against actual results Prepare for and coordinate financial audits, including working with external auditors and health plans Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal controls Assist with ad-hoc financial analyses and projects as requested by management Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible accounting experience Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to interpret financial statements and key financial ratios High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, including complex spreadsheets Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand the broader financial picture Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience researching technical accounting issues Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications (Ideal Candidate) CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred Experience in managed care or healthcare accounting Public accounting firm experience Experience with SOX 404 compliance Knowledge of Sage 100 accounting software Working knowledge of
