Job Summary:
The Coordinator, Cost Accounting & GL supports cost and inventory accounting activities across assigned product lines within a complex manufacturing and distribution environment. This role is responsible for account reconciliations, month-end close support, financial reporting schedules, and cross-functional accounting activities involving inventory, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and pricing data. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large data sets within SAP and Excel-driven financial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Reconciliation & Cost Analysis Reconcile activities between SAP, source system reports, and supporting schedules for assigned product lines Analyze and reconcile inventory purchases, accounts payable, inventory relief, cost of sales, liabilities, sales activity, and accounts receivable Research discrepancies and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed Ensure financial accuracy and consistency across multiple reporting systems Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Prepare month-end close schedules and supporting reports Maintain inventory roll-forward schedules and related accounting documentation Prepare recurring monthly journal entries Support financial audits, tax return preparation, J-SOX reporting, and other compliance-related reporting requirements Assist with gathering and organizing supporting financial documentation Cross-Functional Accounting Support Support other accounting functions including fixed assets, accounts receivable, and license payment processing Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting and reporting issues Provide accounting support across multiple functional areas as business needs require Price Table Maintenance Maintain FOB and additional cost databases for assigned business units Update pricing tables accurately and timely Investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies Coordinate closely with operational and business teams regarding pricing updates and changes Additional Responsibilities Support ad hoc reporting requests and accounting projects Assist with process improvements and operational accounting support activities as assigned
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting or related field Minimum of 2 years of cost accounting or progressive accounting analysis experience within a fast-paced, multi-product environment Strong knowledge of
U.S. GAAP
principles Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills Experience working with SAP and Excel-based financial applications Ability to extract, analyze, reconcile, and manipulate large data sets Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work at both detailed and high-level analytical perspectives

Primarily sedentary office environment Frequent computer-based work and data analysis Occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files or records up to 5 pounds
