We're looking for someone to join our team as a Grant Accountant II who: Under general supervision, the Grant Accountant II is responsible for the financial administration of assigned contracts and grants as well as other routine and complex accounting functions. The Grant Accountant II ensures compliance with funder regulations and requirements, maintains accurate financial records, performs reconciliations and analysis, and manages grant and other financial reporting.
Essential Functions :
Set up new grants in the financial system, interpret award documents, and track budget-to-actual expenditures. Review expenditures for accuracy and allowability, ensuring compliance with grant specific requirements. and OMG Uniform Guidance. Prepare accurate and timely invoices, and interim and final financial reports for funding agencies in compliance with requirements and regulations. Prepare and enter indirect cost allocations and match journal entries. In cooperation with Program Manager, monitor staff time and effort. Prepare and process journal entries. Assist in the review, analysis and verification of the fiscal records. Assist with reconciliation of cash receipts and revenues. Reconcile bank statements Assist with funder and company annual audits. Other duties as assigned. You'll be successful with the following qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field providing substantial work in accounting, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Two (2+) years of accounting experience, preferably in grant or non-profit accounting. Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, anticipate information needs, and respond to changing situations. Knowledge of governmental reporting requirements. Ability to establish and maintain fiscal records and procedures. Ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with general ledger accounting software.
