Staff Accountant

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions across multiple platforms. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, and other regulatory standards. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits within the general ledger. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify the integrity of financial data. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Support payroll management activities utilizing systems like ADP, , including payroll processing and related reporting. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards. Perform data entry tasks with high precision using 10 key typing skills for efficient bookkeeping and record keeping. Collaborate on internal audits and SOX compliance initiatives to uphold internal controls and safeguard company assets. Support tax preparation activities by providing necessary documentation and performing preliminary calculations as needed. Contribute to non-profit or governmental accounting functions if applicable, ensuring adherence to specific regulatory requirements. Skills Strong understanding of

GAAP, SOX

controls, and governmental accounting standards. Proficiency with various financial software platforms including Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos, Paychex or similar systems. Experience with technical accounting issues such as journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management. Knowledge of payroll management systems and processes including payroll taxes and compliance requirements. Ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation accurately. Excellent math skills combined with a solid understanding of financial concepts like debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, budgeting, credit analysis, and financial statement preparation. Effective data entry skills with high accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
