Accounting Associate

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Berkeley, California. This is a Contract to permanent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounts payable and general ledger coding. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial processes and maintaining smooth operations within our accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable invoices, employee reimbursements, and vendor payments with a high level of accuracy.
• Review and upload invoices into the accounting system while ensuring proper general ledger coding.
• Utilize Sage and other relevant software tools to manage financial transactions effectively.
• Maintain electronic filing systems such as Egnyte for organized and accessible financial documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with tracking and reporting 1099 forms in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform journal entries and reconcile accounts as part of month-end financial processes.
• Ensure compliance with corporate tax and sales tax regulations during processing.
• Support the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns as needed.
