Full Job Description Description:

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This role partners closely with AP, AR, and operational teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries; maintain supporting documentation. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations. Support month-end and year-end close processes Review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts. Assist with AR/AP oversight, including cash application and vendor reconciliations. Monitor accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets (additions, disposals, depreciation). Support audit requests and provide required documentation. Prepare, file, and remit sales and use tax returns for multiple states, ensuring accuracy and on-time compliance with state and local regulations. Monitor nexus requirements and support registration and ongoing compliance in new jurisdictions as needed. Manage, collect, review, and maintain resale and exemption certificates, ensuring proper documentation is on file and audit ready. Assist with financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis as needed
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Highly proficient with accounting software. Collaborates with sales, accounting, and others to achieve common goals, and assist in the creation of best practices. Exhibits high-level problem-solving capabilities while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
Education and Experience:
Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience (Construction/HVAC industry a plus). Experience with accounting systems and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications (Power Query, PBI, SQL) Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline, required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. On-site position, we are unable to offer relocation for this role.
