Burbank, CA Job Details Full-time $100,000 - $120,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Research Full Job Description Position Description The Experienced Staff Accountant will play a key role in assisting with the Monthly and Quarterly Financial Statement closes for STX Entertainment. The position will report to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to: Prepare Journal Entries - Including but not limited to: Revenue recognition Amortization of theatrical Theatrical bad debt reserve Digital revenue accrual Reclasses necessary for classified balance sheet Debt Prepare Monthly/Quarterly Account Reconciliations Review bank reconciliations and ensure that all cash entries have been recorded Prepare audit and roll-forward schedules for external audits Research pronouncements to validate proper accounting GAAP treatment Prepare the revenue recognition memo for new theatrical titles Ad hoc requests to support the Accounting & Finance functions
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree CPA, desirable with 1-3 years of public/private experience in Entertainment (Big 4 experience desired, mid-tier public accounting experience is acceptable). Participation experience desired Theatrical Film and Digital Distribution experience a plus Exposure to production accounting a plus Proficient understanding of NetSuite a plus Excellent verbal & written skills Advance knowledge of Excel Understanding of accounting principles and accounting functions Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines Desired skills: Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little supervision Must have excellent organizational skills Hands-on
