Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a growing finance team in Camarillo, California. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the close cycle, and delivering meaningful analysis that helps guide business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across departments in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and review accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to maintain complete and accurate financial records.
- Take a leading role in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring timelines are met and reporting is reliable.
- Monitor the general ledger for accuracy and consistency while applying company accounting standards and established policies.
- Evaluate financial results, research fluctuations, and communicate clear insights and explanations to leadership.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and recurring management reports used for operational and strategic review.
- Coordinate audit support by organizing schedules, gathering requested documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Uphold internal control practices and help ensure compliance with accounting guidelines and applicable regulations.
- Partner with teams such as Operations and Payroll to resolve accounting matters and improve financial processes.
- Support efficiency initiatives, including process improvements, automation efforts, and other assigned accounting projects. Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core financial reporting principles.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, and account reconciliation processes.
- Advanced Excel capabilities and familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Syteline is preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, organization, and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with management, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
- Background in public accounting, manufacturing, cost accounting, or finance-related system implementation and automation is preferred.
