This role will be responsible for the full cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of apartment financials. The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, trustworthy, organized, and self-motivated. Arrowhead Housing is a boutique property management company dedicated to creating unique experiences. We manage various size apartment communities. We are customer and resident-focused and unwaveringly committed to the highest standards. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of multi-family apartment locations. This position reports to the Controller and will work out of our Cameron Park Office. The requirements of this position will include;
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate's degree in business administration, Accounting or higher preferred
Experience:
A minimum of 4+ years of related accounting experience in multifamily property management preferred. Accounting Software experience (ResMan or RealPage preferred). Ability to enter data fast and accurately, and strong knowledge of
Excel SKILLS :
Must have a solid background in property management accounting processes; Strong quantitative, problem-solving, management, customer service and organization skills; Must be detail and deadline-oriented; Able to align work with company's strategic goals Ability to interpret financial reports and analyze data Flexibility to work in a complex and changing organization and adapt to changes in structure and work priorities Interest and ability to work as a team and working both independently and in groups and willingness to be assigned to help team members in order to achieve departmental goals Ability to work efficiently and effectively to identify and act on areas of concern and urgency
Independence:
ability to make independent decisions within the company boundaries and policies Ability to understand and implement directives
Computer Proficiency:
Proficiency in spreadsheet and computerized accounting applications. Experience with Real Page/ One Site and AppFolio or similar programs required. Positive attitude, professionalism, and integrity Must have Self-initiative and long with the ability to work with a team, the ability to problem-solve and prioritize work.
Communication:
Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form and relate effectively with others. Cost Consciousness - Develops and implements cost saving measures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide management support in various accounting, insurance and finance duties as needed and directed by the Controller, CFO or CEO. Responsible for Full cycle accounting for assigned portfolio. Assist in all aspects of month, quarter and year-end closing procedures Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as needed and present to management or property owners as needed Analyze and/or review data to ensure accuracy Help coordinate financial reporting and account reconciliation Assist with audits and ensure Regulatory compliance Ensure compliance with company requirements, policies and procedures Assist to create systems, policies and procedures for optimal efficiency Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned and needed Reconcile bank accounts accurately and in a timely manner, with attention to unusual items that remain outstanding at month end Reconcile differences between A/P or A/R modules and G/L module Reconcile General Ledger to occupancy and deposit information Prepare periodic financial statements within assigned time limits and accuracy standards Prepare any financial statement related reports as assigned Prepare accounting reports required by outside agencies Respond promptly, courteously and correctly to inquiries from internal and external users Assist in the preparation of budgets and schedules for annual audit.
