Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Accountant and become a vital contributor to our organization's financial health and integrity. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and executing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, and industry standards. Your expertise will support accurate financial reporting, streamline accounting processes, and uphold the highest standards of financial accuracy. Duties Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify the integrity of financial data across various accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP. Support payroll management activities utilizing systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro; ensure timely processing of payroll data. Maintain compliance with SOX controls by documenting processes, performing internal audits, and implementing necessary controls. Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting, tax preparation, and financial reporting for both corporate and governmental accounting needs. Requirements Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms; experience with Workday or UltiPro is a plus. Solid knowledge of GAAP standards; familiarity with governmental accounting practices is advantageous. Experience with payroll management systems including ADP or Paychex; knowledge of payroll processing is required. Strong data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in double entry bookkeeping and 10-key typing is essential. Ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, and journal entries efficiently. Excellent mathematical skills combined with analytical thinking to interpret financial data accurately. Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience implementing internal controls is preferred. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support audit processes.
