Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Corona, California. This role is essential in supporting critical accounting functions, including month-end close processes and financial statement preparation. As this is a contract position, we seek someone who is detail oriented, can quickly adapt, and contribute with minimal training while working 100% on-site.
Responsibilities:
Manage and execute month-end close processes within a five-business-day timeline, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Perform general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining fixed asset schedules.
Oversee bank reconciliations and review accounts payable and receivable clerk entries for accuracy.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and related reports for management review.
Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations, including loans, fixed assets, and cash management.
Assist with payroll journal entries and ensure alignment with bank records; may handle payroll taxes if experienced.
Produce inventory valuations and aging inventory analysis, collaborating with sales and site managers to address aged balances.
Develop operational and financial reports to support senior management and department heads.
Provide required schedules and documentation for external auditors during financial statement audits.
Act as a backup for other accounting team members when necessary. Requirements
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment.
Strong knowledge of general ledger systems and processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Experience with month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and fixed asset accounting.
Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and managing cash flow analysis.
Familiarity with GAAP and auditing standards, with the ability to prepare for financial statement audits.
Excellent analytical skills, with experience in cost analysis and reduction strategies.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
