Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Corona, California. This role is essential in supporting critical accounting functions, including month-end close processes and financial statement preparation. As this is a contract position, we seek someone who is detail oriented, can quickly adapt, and contribute with minimal training while working 100% on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute month-end close processes within a five-business-day timeline, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Perform general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining fixed asset schedules.
• Oversee bank reconciliations and review accounts payable and receivable clerk entries for accuracy.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and related reports for management review.
• Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations, including loans, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Assist with payroll journal entries and ensure alignment with bank records; may handle payroll taxes if experienced.
• Produce inventory valuations and aging inventory analysis, collaborating with sales and site managers to address aged balances.
• Develop operational and financial reports to support senior management and department heads.
• Provide required schedules and documentation for external auditors during financial statement audits.
• Act as a backup for other accounting team members when necessary. Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger systems and processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and fixed asset accounting.
• Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and managing cash flow analysis.
• Familiarity with GAAP and auditing standards, with the ability to prepare for financial statement audits.
• Excellent analytical skills, with experience in cost analysis and reduction strategies.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
