Job Description

We are working with a growing and dynamic organization in Orange County seeking a Senior Accountant on a temp-to-hire basis. This role will play a key part in supporting the accounting team through month-end close, financial reporting, and ongoing process improvements. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting activities including general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Maintain financial records and support the preparation of monthly financial statements Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance Support audit requests and assist with year-end audit preparation Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and operational teams Drive process improvements and help streamline accounting workflows Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (mix of public and industry preferred) Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets) Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar) preferred Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
