Job Title:
Staff Accountant Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will provide support to the accounting department by overseeing financial records, prepare & update financial reports and information and ensure that customers are adequately billed for goods and services. Accounts receivable duties include ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue and expenses by verifying and posting receipts.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and misc. differences are cleared. Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line and making collection calls. Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email and mail when necessary. Maintaining records regarding payments and account statuses. Obtaining information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up to date. Ability to recognize when customers are exhibiting abnormal payment trends, an increase in deductions, and cash flow. Issuing customer invoices utilizing company SAP software. Assisting with audits and revolving discrepancies Evaluate financial budgets & track expenses Manage customer rebate programs. Manage A/R and A/P correspondence and inquiries. Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries. Manage aging of vendor bills and employee reimbursement due Collaborates with the CFO to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic bimonthly basis. Support accounting & finance team members, inventory management, & cost accounting. Responsible for monitoring account load to ensure payments are made in a timely manner. Accurately input data into company software system. Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting clients to discuss their accounts. Assist with month end close tasks and GL reconciliations. Processing and recording transactions. Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested. Generating reports and statements for internal use.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in accounting. finance. or related field. At least 3
  • 5 years' experience in a similar role.
Strong math, typing, and computer skills, especially with bookkeeping software. SAP systems, Quickbooks, and Microsoft Excel knowledge & skills Excellent communication, research, problem-solving. and time management skills. High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability. Attention to detail. Ability to build relationships with clients and internal departments.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times. Office Schedule
