Job Description

The Aerospace Corporation is looking for a Senior Accountant / Analyst (Staff III or Staff IV) to join our General Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for general ledger accounting activities including executing month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Bring your seasoned accounting expertise and do your best work at Aerospace! We are looking for a team-oriented, self-starter to join us! The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site at our campus facility in El Segundo, California. What You'll Be Doing Prepare and post journal entries, account reclassifications, and cost transfers Execute and monitor month-end settlement processes in SAP Verify project costs are accurately settled to fixed assets Prepare detailed account analyses and reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts Maintain supporting documentation for general ledger transactions Provide responsive support to business unit finance managers on cost transfers, GL reclassifications, and settlement error resolution Interface with internal and external auditors; provide requested schedules and documentation Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed What You Need To Be Successful Minimum Requirements for the General Accounting Staff III include: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related technical discipline is required Four or more years of increasingly responsible and relevant professional experience in the Accounting field Experience with month-end close processes and general ledger accounting Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) Experience preparing account reconciliations and journal entries Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal Position requires working a standard 5-day schedule from mid-September to mid-December and occasionally working more than standard working hours during month-end and fiscal year-end closes and the year-end corporate audit In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the General Accounting Staff IV include: Seven or more years of increasingly responsible and relevant professional experience in the Accounting field Experience preparing audit schedules and/or responding to auditor requests Demonstrated experience leading and/or implementing new accounting processes or systems How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: Possess CPA certification with hands-on public accounting experience, demonstrating robust expertise in financial analysis, auditing, and regulatory compliance Advanced degree/MBA showcasing advanced business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities Experience with government contract accounting regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), demonstrating specialized knowledge in compliance and cost accounting principles Expertise in leveraging advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, and PivotTables to perform complex data analyses and reporting A strong passion for data analysis and dashboard reporting, utilizing data-driven insights to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills. (Min - Max) $75,300.00 - $113,000.00
