Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Fresno, California. This role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring reconciliations are completed thoroughly and on schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger knowledge, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure timely completion of the financial close process.
  • Record and post journal entries with accuracy while maintaining proper supporting documentation for accounting transactions.
  • Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and supporting accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis to verify balances and investigate unusual variances.
  • Complete bank reconciliations by comparing statements to internal records and addressing outstanding items promptly.
  • Analyze financial data to identify inconsistencies, recommend corrections, and improve overall accuracy of accounting records.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather required information, clarify transactions, and support day-to-day accounting needs.
