Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for an organization based in California. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone with strong experience in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and keeping accounting activities aligned with established standards. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in day-to-day accounting functions and can work effectively across reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and revenue-related processes. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, researching discrepancies, and supporting month-end close efforts.
  • Perform regular account reconciliations and resolve outstanding variances in a timely manner.
  • Assist with operational audit activities by gathering documentation, validating records, and responding to information requests.
  • Support revenue accounting tasks, including tracking entries, reviewing balances, and confirming proper recognition practices.
  • Analyze financial data to identify inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve accuracy, maintain compliance, and support ongoing accounting priorities.
