Key Qualifications Financial Reports & Closes:
Manage accounting functions (A/P, A/R & Overhead) and prepare timely, accurate monthly internal reports and annual financial statements.
Job Cost:
Confirm budgets are accurately entered. Review costs vs. budgets multiple times during the project with the project managers to verify costs are being properly allocated. Update the weekly master general conditions budget and review document for the Monday morning review meeting. Keep accounting for the project budgets, job cost entries and updates current and accurate.
General Ledger & Reconciliation:
Perform and review monthly account reconciliations, journal entries, and maintain the general ledger. Description This position is in our office (Glendale). As the Controller in overseeing the accounting and human resources department and work closely with the Executive team to ensure the company meets deadlines, resolves issues, and follows through with commitments. Talents and Traits Focused on building strong working internal and external relationships. Maintains a positive work environment. Keep current with the latest technologies. Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment subject to frequent interruptions. Self-starter, takes ownership, and follows through. Provide critical thinking with problem solving skills using research and analytics. Able to get further upstream (proactive about identifying trends, issues, troubleshooting, etc.,) Being helpful, respectful and team oriented. Demonstrates strong organizational skills, plans a head, and manages time efficiently. Embraces continuous improvement. Customer oriented mindset. Strong conflict resolutions skills. Education/Experience Must have 5+ years of experience in an accounting role in the construction industry. Solid understanding in job cost adjustments, retention, and AIA billing. Must have excellent computer skills and be able to demonstrate proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment, able to multi-task, meet critical deadlines with eye for accuracy and attention to details. Ability to work with all levels of project staff and organization. Compensation in other cities may vary. The determination of salary is based on the candidate's individual professional experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.
