Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Hawthorne, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in all accounting activities. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic organization in the credit union industry.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
- Manage bank reconciliations to ensure proper cash flow tracking and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with NCUA regulations and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review.
- Provide support during audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must have financial services, banking or credit union industry expereince.
- Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on month-end close and general ledger management.
- Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with NCUA regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
