Senior Staff Accountant

Senior Staff Accountant Compensation:

$80-100K base

San Diego, CA (hybrid, 3-4 days onsite) Overview This role supports a fast?growing organization with a lean accounting team and a strong need for hands?on execution. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining accuracy and momentum across high?volume transactional activity, particularly tied to project?level accounting. Key Responsibilities Manage high?volume accounts payable processing across multiple projects and cost centers Reconcile a large volume of corporate credit card transactions on a monthly basis Perform daily and ongoing reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness Support accruals and assist with month?end close from a transactional perspective Ensure proper expense classification aligned with projects and internal reporting needs Help improve and streamline existing AP and expense workflows Partner closely with accounting leadership in a fast?paced environment Minimum Qualifications Strong background in high?volume accounts payable environments Experience operating in fast?paced, execution?heavy accounting roles Highly detail?oriented with strong organizational skills Able to work independently with minimal hand?holding Comfortable asking questions and navigating ambiguity Exposure to project accounting, WIP, and cost accounting concepts Preferred Qualifications ERP or accounting system experience in small?to?mid?size organizations Experience supporting growing or scaling companies Strong Excel skills Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
