Real Estate Accountant We are a privately held real estate investment/development company with holdings in retail, residential, and farming.
POSITION
Real Estate Accountant
POSITION LOCATION
Los Altos, California
POSITION SUMMARY
This position reports to the Controller and will perform various duties to support the month and year-end close process, including the annual budgeting process. In addition to overseeing Retail, Residential, and Commercial properties, candidate will possibly be asked to work on special projects relating to agricultural business, cost analysis, and construction accounting. Candidate must be able to read and interpret leases and prepare CAM reconciliations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for month-end and year-end closing of financials assigned. Responsible for balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting. Manage external audits. Manage the budging, filing, & appeals for real estate property taxes. Assist in annual preparation of operating budgets. Manage & prepare annual CAM budgets prepared for tenants. Manage & prepare annual tenant CAM reconciliation reports. Follow-up on CAM reconciliation questions from tenants. Manage external reporting to third party banks & lenders. Other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in accounting or business administration. Minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience Experience with CAM budgeting, billing, and reconciliation. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong working knowledge of Excel and MS Word. Requires a broad knowledge and understanding of policies, regulations, procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with Quickbooks Accounting Software a big plus
