JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for managing various administrative aspects of the business including bookkeeping, payroll, and human resources. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in a variety of accounting and payroll tools including Quickbooks, Gusto, and Bill.com. We will strongly consider individuals who know how to integrate this expertise into e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce or Shopify. In addition to the accounting responsibilities, the position will also provide HR services to the company to include:. supporting the welfare of employees; ensuring workplace compliance with the local, state, and federal regulations; and holding all employees accountable to the standards set forth by Steel Lighting Co. The ideal candidate will have experience with these different areas, know how to manage their responsibilities with little oversight, and who can step into the role with energy and drive. (Other Duties May Be Assigned) Key Responsibilities:
Handle accounts receivable/payable, and general accounting-related administrative tasks. Extract, review, and organize accounting data from internal systems to support financial reporting Prepare and support monthly and annual financial reports, including P&L and balance sheet reports Support monthly and annual closing processes in coordination with management and external accounting professionals Coordinate recruitment-related activities, including communication with potential hires and onboarding as needed. Support HR administration, including payroll-related matters, employee records, benefits administration, and employment documentation Manage attendance records and support labor compliance-related documentation Update employee handbook and HR policies in accordance with all local, state, and federal labor laws. Conduct routine company training on HR related topics and concerning and changes to company policies. Prepare, organize, maintain, and store important corporate documents and records. Support matters related to contracts, corporate filings, registrations, and legal documentation. Coordinate with external professionals, including attorneys, accountants, HR consultants, insurance brokers, and other service providers as needed Support day-to-day office operations and provide administrative assistance to management Assist with policy enforcement, employee documentation and counseling, and disciplinary actions Support management with periodic employee reviews Perform other duties related to accounting, HR, general affairs, and corporate administration as assigned Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in accounting administration required. 1-2 years of HR administration, general affairs, corporate administration, or related functions strongly preferred. Experience preparing or supporting financial reports such as P&L and balance sheet reports preferred. Comfortable operating with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, etc.) preferred Basic understanding of accounting processes, monthly closing, and annual closing procedures Experience with HR administration, payroll coordination, benefits administration, attendance management, or recruitment coordination preferred Experience with Quickbooks, Gusto, and Bill.com strongly preferred. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through Strong communication and coordination skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Benefits:
