Job Description
Description Our nonprofit organization is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the community through mission-driven programs and services. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to support our finance team and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. Position Summary The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting reporting processes, and providing data-driven insights. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, advanced Excel skills, and accounting knowledge. Key Responsibilities + Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close processes + Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improved efficiency + Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders + Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation + Assist with audits and ensure adherence to GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards + Develop and maintain Excel-based reports, dashboards, and financial models Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 4+ years of accounting experience + Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and present insights + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis) + Experience with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) preferred + High attention to detail and strong organizational skills + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
