Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and internal controls, while supporting overall financial accuracy. Your expertise in accounting software and financial concepts will help streamline operations and contribute to the organization's financial health. Responsibilities Process and verify all incoming vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests with precision and adherence to company policies. Reconcile accounts payable transactions regularly to ensure accuracy in the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers. Prepare and review journal entries related to accounts payable activities, ensuring proper debits and credits are recorded in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Manage the accounts payable workflow using our software throughout the process. Conduct thorough account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly to prevent errors or delays in payments. Collaborate with human resources on benefits administration related to payroll management and employee expense reimbursements. Assist with month-end closing activities involving accounts payable and general ledger reconciliation. Maintain detailed records of all transactions, ensuring audit readiness for internal or external reviews. Support other finance functions such as accounts receivable, payroll processing, or governmental accounting as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting roles focusing on accounts payable functions within a corporate setting. Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts related to accounts payable. Proficiency with accounting software. Experience working with payroll systems like ADP is a plus. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency). Ability to perform account reconciliation and analyze financial data effectively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of governmental or non-profit accounting practices is advantageous but not required.
