Job Description
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records while supporting the overall accounting operations. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent analytical skills, and maintains a commitment to meeting deadlines with precision and accuracy. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong proficiency in accounts payable management, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. Primary Responsibilities Accounts Payable Management Process high volumes of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and approval workflows are followed Review and verify invoice accuracy, matching purchase orders and receiving documents to ensure compliance with company policies Prepare and execute payment runs including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments in accordance with payment terms Maintain vendor master file, including setting up new vendors, updating vendor information, and managing W-9 documentation Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive vendor relationships Process employee expense reports and reimbursements in a timely manner Monitor accounts payable aging reports and ensure timely payment to avoid late fees and maintain vendor relationships Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounts payable best practices and internal controls Account Reconciliations Perform monthly reconciliations for multiple bank accounts, credit cards, prepaids and expense accounts. Investigate and resolve reconciling items, discrepancies, and variances in a timely manner Prepare detailed reconciliation documentation with supporting schedules and explanations for management review Maintain organized reconciliation files and ensure all reconciliations are completed within established deadlines Qualifications Minimum 3 years accounting experience within a high volume, multi-cost center environment Knowledge of accounting software, preferably exposure to ERP systems Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. Formalized education or training in accounting preferred but not required.
