In this pivotal role, you will lead complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support strategic decision-making through accurate financial analysis. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial reporting and streamline accounting processes across various departments. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance. Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvements. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits related to financial reporting. Support payroll management activities utilizing systems like ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or Paychex while ensuring accuracy in employee benefits administration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HRIS systems management and governmental accounting requirements to streamline data entry and reporting processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting standards. Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms. Extensive knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping. Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or Paychex along with benefits administration processes. Strong analysis skills coupled with attention to detail for account reconciliation and financial reporting accuracy. Ability to handle complex data entry tasks efficiently (10 key typing skills) while maintaining high accuracy levels.
