Job Description

Position Overview The Senior Accountant II is a high-level role who will work directly with the controller and CFO to execute accounting functions. This role plays a critical role in supporting daily accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This position involves active participation in the month-end and year-end close processes, consolidated reporting, audit preparation and support, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of collaborating across departments to deliver accurate and timely financial information. Please note this role is on site in Pixley, CA. Key Responsibilities General Accounting
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, post journal entries, and process bank deposits.
  • Manage prepaid expenses, accruals, and related amortization schedules.
  • Support daily and weekly production workflows.
  • Maintain organized accounting records (electronic and paper) and ensure documentation is audit-ready.
  • Prepare complex Excel spreadsheets and manage accounting functions.
  • Provide support for ad hoc tasks and special projects. Financial Close & Reporting
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely reconciliations and accurate consolidations.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, equity) in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable reporting regulations.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions; prepare elimination entries for multiple entities.
  • Produce internal management reports, cost center analyses, and budget-to-actual variance reports. Audit & Compliance
  • Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls; recommend and help implement improvements.
  • Conduct technical accounting research and assist with adopting new standards. Process Improvement & Collaboration
  • Partner with operations, land, and engineering teams to ensure accurate reporting inputs.
  • Drive efficiency through workflow automation, reporting enhancements, and stronger internal controls.
  • Develop process maps and contribute to strengthening the financial reporting framework. Skills & Competencies
  • Accounting Expertise:
    Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial statements, and month-end close procedures.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Experience with consolidated statements, management reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas) and accounting/ERP systems experience (Great Plains, NetSuite preferred).
  • Audit & Compliance:
    Knowledge of audit preparation, reporting, and internal control frameworks.
  • Analytical Thinking:
    Ability to interpret data and provide clear, actionable insights.

High degree of accuracy in reconciliations and financial documentation.
  • Organization:
    Strong time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

    Effective interpersonal skills; able to work cross-functionally.

Proactive in optimizing workflows and supporting automation.
Qualifications Required:
  • 5-10 years of accounting experience in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Preferred:
  • MBA or CPA
  • Experience with consolidated reporting and inter company reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements.
Pay:
$95,000.00
  • $120,000.
