As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our team and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and organized General Accountant to handle the day-to-day financial operations related to accounts payable and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections to support the financial health of the company.Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounts payable process, including reviewing and verifying invoices, coding expenses, and preparing payments.
- Process accounts receivable transactions, such as generating customer invoices, recording payments, and monitoring outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and customer records in the accounting system.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable sub-ledgers to the general ledger on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices, payments, or collections.
- Prepare and distribute regular reports on accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including aging reports and cash flow projections.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Support the finance team with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a general accountant or in a similar role, preferably in the food service or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable principles and processes.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
