In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and executing a wide range of accounting functions to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will help drive the financial health of our organization by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and supporting various financial processes. Responsibilities Prepare, analyze, and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable management, and general ledger accounting to maintain precise financial records. Manage payroll processing using systems such as ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, or Ceridian, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments. Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Workday. Support month-end and year-end closing processes by verifying account balances and preparing financial statements. Assist with internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and participate in audits as needed. Reconcile accounts through detailed account analysis, account reconciliation procedures, and double-entry bookkeeping practices. Contribute to budgeting efforts and provide insights through financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Maintain thorough documentation of all transactions, including journal entries and account reconciliations for audit readiness. Qualifications Proven experience in corporate accounting with a solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation. Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday or similar platforms; experience with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex is highly desirable. Knowledge of GAAP standards as well as governmental or non-profit accounting practices is a plus. Strong data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing and double-entry bookkeeping is essential. Ability to analyze accounts thoroughly through account analysis and account reconciliation techniques. Excellent mathematical skills combined with a keen attention to detail for tasks involving financial calculations such as budgeting or credit analysis. Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and supporting audit processes; prior experience in public accounting is advantageous.
