Contract-to-Hire Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team in Riverside. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role and is looking for long-term career growth. The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments Perform monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Analyze financial data and investigate account discrepancies Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare supporting schedules Assist with audit requests and financial reporting requirements Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures Support special projects and process improvement initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required 2+ years of accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables Experience with ERP or accounting software preferred Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Effective written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with month-end close activities Background in manufacturing, distribution, construction, or service industries is a plus Experience preparing financial reports and reconciliations Why Join Us? Pay Range:
$26-$33 per hour, based on experience.
Pay Details:
