Staff Accountant (Fast Track to Assistant Controller)
Location:
Del Mar, CA (Onsite)
Schedule:
9:00 AM•5:00 PM, 5 days/week (Includes one weekend day during peak season to maintain a 5-day workweek)
Compensation:
$85,000•$95,000 (Direct Hire) Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Del Mar. This role offers a unique fast-track opportunity to Assistant Controller for high-performing individuals who demonstrate strong technical skills, leadership potential, and a drive to grow within the organization. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain fixed asset accounting , including tracking, capitalization, and depreciation schedules Perform bank reconciliations and general account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness Prepare and file sales tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations Support and execute month-end close processes , including journal entries and reporting Oversee and manage accounts receivable , including invoicing, collections, and aging analysis Assist with financial reporting and ad hoc accounting projects as needed Identify process improvements and contribute to increased efficiency within the accounting function Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles Experience with Sage accounting software preferred High attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Growth Opportunity This role is designed as a development path to Assistant Controller , providing exposure to advanced accounting functions, financial oversight, and leadership responsibilities.
