$100,000•$130,000 per year Job Details•We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a strong knowledge of payroll systems and regulations. The Senior Payroll Specialist will play a pivotal role in maintaining employee satisfaction and ensuring our financial operations run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and execute all tasks related to payroll processing, including data entry, reconciliation, and disbursement of payroll checks. 2. Oversee and ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related matters. 3. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. 4. Coordinate with HR department to verify personnel changes and update payroll records accordingly. 5. Manage multi-state payroll processing and tax compliance. 6. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. 7. Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies promptly. 8. Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions. 9. Stay updated on current regulations and policies affecting payroll procedures and ensure the organization adheres to them. 10. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure correct payroll entries and adjustments.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in the construction industry. 3. Proficiency in multi-state payroll tax rules and regulations. 4. Strong knowledge of payroll software, databases, and MS Office (especially Excel). 5. Excellent mathematical and numerical skills. 6. High level of professionalism with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. 7. Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving abilities. 8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 9. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 10. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
