Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in San Francisco, California. This role will play a central part in period-end activities, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate records across payroll, commissions, and accruals. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills and can work independently in a part-time schedule of approximately 20 to 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead core month-end close activities and help ensure timely completion of assigned accounting tasks.
  • Calculate commission expense and prepare related accounting entries, including treatment for deferred commissions.
  • Record payroll-related journal entries with accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
  • Perform reconciliations across key balance sheet accounts, including accounts payable and bank-related activity.
  • Maintain monthly accrual schedules and post recurring or adjusting entries as needed.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly revenue reporting for internal stakeholders.
  • Assemble financial reporting packages and supporting analyses for leadership and board-level review.
  • Prepare quarterly accounting entries related to equity activity and capitalized software, ensuring alignment with accounting policies.
