Job Description

We are looking for an Accountant to support core financial operations for a Contract position based in San Luis Obispo, California. This role will handle day-to-day accounting activities across payables, receivables, and general ledger functions while helping maintain accurate and timely financial records. The ideal candidate brings strong working knowledge of reconciliations, journal entries, and payroll-related processes, along with experience using modern accounting systems such as Sage Intacct and Paylocity.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor account follow-up to keep accounts payable activity accurate and current.
  • Oversee billing support, cash application, and customer account tracking to maintain organized accounts receivable records.
  • Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring transactions are properly recorded within the general ledger.
  • Complete bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis and investigate discrepancies to resolution.
  • Assist with payroll-related accounting tasks, including review of supporting data and coordination of accurate entries.
  • Maintain financial records in Sage Intacct and support routine accounting workflows through effective system use.
  • Apply GAAP-based accounting practices when reviewing transactions, balances, and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to month-end close activities by organizing schedules, reconciling accounts, and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
