Job Description:
Addison Group is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity with a growing publicly traded organization. This role will support a variety of corporate accounting functions and work closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong general ledger accounting experience, a solid understanding of month-end and quarter-end close processes, and experience working within a public company environment. This position offers exposure to multiple areas of accounting and provides an opportunity to contribute to a growing organization during a period of expansion and operational integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies. Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation calculations, and related reconciliations. Prepare cash reconciliations and assist with treasury-related accounting activities. Analyze financial results and investigate account variances to identify trends and resolve discrepancies. Assist with consolidated financial reporting and intercompany accounting transactions. Support SOX compliance efforts, internal controls documentation, and audit requests. Partner with accounting and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple business units. Assist with process improvement initiatives and contribute to ongoing accounting automation and efficiency projects. Support special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including corporate general ledger accounting. Experience working within a publicly traded company environment. Strong knowledge of month-end close, quarter-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Experience with SOX controls and compliance requirements. Hands-on experience with fixed assets, cash accounting, variance analysis, and consolidated financial statements. Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls. Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to collaborate across departments. Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to support multiple areas of the accounting function.
