We pride ourselves on providing farm-fresh eggs to our customers while maintaining the highest standards of environmental and operational excellence. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Position Overview As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting activities for our shell egg production business. This role requires strong expertise in financial reporting, general ledger management, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other senior management to ensure accurate financial records and the efficient operation of accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) in accordance with GAAP.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports for management, including variance analysis and cost analysis.
  • Conduct regular reviews of accounts and internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany accounts.
  • Support tax reporting, including sales tax, income tax, and other relevant filings.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role, preferably in a manufacturing or agricultural environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, D365 or similar systems).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory management in a production environment is highly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
