Duties Help The purpose of this position is to perform review and analysis of the various procedures used in administering and opering the fiscal control systems of the ste and to identify, determine the cause of, and take corrective action to resolve difficulties, problems, and inefficiencies within those systems and ensure costing structure is established and monitored in the systems the ste level. Cost Accounting:
The incumbent will analyze, examine, and interpret accounting da, records, and reports to determine past costs, identify improperly recorded costs, and realloce cost to ensure they are recorded in proper cost structure. Managerial Accounting:
Provides accounting advice and recommendions to program managers and the installion staff. Plans, coordines, and performs comprehensive reviews, special studies, and selective internal examinions of USPFO functions pertaining to cost management environment under the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and its interfacing feeder systems (STANFINS/AFCOS, SPS, DTS, DCPS, GCSS-A, ODS, FCM, IATS). Confers with representives of other local offices/directores to resolve USPFO problems associed with improper cost management tributable to functions under their jurisdiction. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Help Conditions of employment May be required to successfully complete a probionary period. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. accounting; or a degree in a reled field such as business administrion, finance, or public administrion th included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR Combinion of educion and experience: least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combinion of accounting experience, college-level educion, and training th provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of approprie type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law; A certifice as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examinion; or Completion of the requirements for a degree th included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but th does not fully sisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided th (a) the applicant has successfully worked the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a reled field, e.g., valuion engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined th the applicant has demonstred a good knowledge of accounting and of reled and underlying fields th equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement th which is normally associed with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's educion, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.
