POSITION - NOT A REMOTE OR HYBRID POSITION
Job Summary:
This position accurately maintains the general ledger and related subsidiary ledgers for the PRCA and affiliated companies. Ensures timely compliance with sponsor contractual obligations. Provides expertise and assistance to Controller with overall accounting of multiple companies.
Essential Duties:
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions and instructs other financial staff and other staff to maintain Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Resolves complex issues where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Reconciles all bank accounts on a daily and monthly basis. Reviews entries made for accuracy. Posts and reviews accounting system activities for optimum accuracy and efficiency. This includes entries for various fees and adjustments as needed for reconciliation purposes. Reviews Rodeo Pay online payments from members and compares to automatic entry made in accounting system for accuracy. Transfers deposits to/from bank accounts Assists Accounts Receivable with invoicing and follow up on receipt entries for reconciliation purposes Reconciles credit card payments daily compared to entries from all companies including online payments made by members for accuracy Maintains the user database for credit card processing of departments. Responsible for voiding error receipts and reviewing payments. Processes sponsorship invoices and collections according to contracts in a timely manner. Maintain spreadsheet pertaining to invoicing and payments received. Reviews A/R aging report and follow up with collections for various departments. Process statements on past due accounts. Assists in the preparation of monthly financial and operating statements for board reports. Works with external auditors to provide documentation as required for annual audit. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required and 10+ years of accounting experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities.
Work Environment:
This position works under typical office conditions, and the noise level is usually quiet.
Physical Demands:
Employees in this position are regularly required to sit; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 15 pounds or less. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
