COST ACCOUNTANT
Summary of Functions The Cost Accountant will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports, while reporting accurate revenue recognition. Duties and Responsibilities- Gathers and compiles all related cost information.
- Generates monthly invoices and track cash receipts.
- Generates and tracks the production on project activities.
- Predicts, plans, and records accurate revenue recognition.
- Maintains and generates project related purchase orders and subcontracts.
- Predicts, plans, and records variable costs.
- Reviews daily timecards for coding inaccuracies.
- Reviews and analyzes actual costs to identify inaccuracies.
- Reviews, analyzes, and reports actual profit margins.
- Performs project close out of documentation and lien releases.
- Performs month-end and year-end closings with assistance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent numeracy skills along with a logical and analytical mind
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, HCSS products, and accounting software (Vista or Spectrum).
- Thorough understanding of accounting procedures.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information. Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or Business Administration required.
- At least two years of experience in cost accounting preferred.
