Senior Corporate Accountant Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing and reviewing complex accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting timely and compliant financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of GAAP, the ability to work independently, and the judgment to resolve moderately complex accounting issues to achieve hard deadlines. Key Responsibilities Heavy support for the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries, including accruals, allocations, amortizations, and reclassifications Perform and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Assist with external and internal audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries Analyze financial data and provide explanations for account fluctuations Support process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures Serve as a resource to junior accounting staff and provide guidance as needed Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting Experience with month-end close in a deadline-driven environment Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Sumif/Sumifs, etc) Experience with ERP/accounting systems Vista Experience a plus Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Analytical and problem-solving skills Clear written and verbal communication skills Professional judgment and discretion Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision Typical Expectations Independently manages assigned accounts and reconciliations Completes work accurately and on time without the need for frequent follow-up Escalates issues appropriately and proactively Demonstrates accountability for deliverables and deadlines
