CRS provides management and accounting services to special districts, authorities, and municipalities throughout Colorado. As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of clients. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, month-end closings, and maintaining strong relationships with company clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of assigned clients. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Prepare and file statutory filings Review and analyze financial reports and provide actionable insights to clients Assist with budgeting and forecasting Support year-end processes and liaise with external accountants or auditors Maintain strong communication with clients, addressing questions and providing proactive support Maintain accurate financial records and support financial audits Coordinate with external auditors as needed Continuously improve financial procedures and controls Implement process improvements to ensure efficiency and consistency across client accounts Support clients with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting or related field 4+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Great Plains, or equivalent) Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial analysis Excellent communication and organizational skills Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Knowledge of GAAP, GASB and governmental accounting Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple clients and projects
