This pivotal role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management of financial reporting, regulatory adherence, and internal controls. Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of accounting functions, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable processing, and payroll administration. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements. Manage financial report writing, including preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders. Conduct detailed account analysis and account reconciliation to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly. Lead budgeting processes, forecasting activities, and financial analysis to support strategic planning initiatives. Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations. Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to governmental accounting, nonprofit accounting, or public accounting as applicable. Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline financial management processes. Monitor cash management activities to optimize liquidity while ensuring compliance with banking protocols. Prepare regulatory reports required by government agencies or nonprofit entities with transparency and precision. Skills Extensive knowledge of accounting principles including
GAAP, IFRS, SOX
compliance, and governmental or nonprofit accounting standards. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent tools; strong technical accounting skills are essential. Demonstrated experience in balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, accounts payable/receivable management, and general ledger accounting. Strong understanding of financial concepts like debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. Excellent ability to write clear and comprehensive financial reports while communicating complex data effectively. Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for nonprofit organizations or government entities is a plus. Proven capability in managing accounts payable processes including vendor payments while ensuring compliance with internal controls. Exceptional attention to detail combined with analytical thinking for account reconciliation and account analysis tasks. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
