Job Description

Overview Evolve Infrastructure Group is a rapidly growing heavy civil construction company specializing in underground utilities, earthwork, and infrastructure projects across Colorado and Arizona. We are seeking a Project Accountant to support the financial performance of our projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role will work closely with Project Managers and leadership to ensure accurate job costing, financial reporting, and project forecasting, while partnering with our Bookkeeping team who manages day-to-day transactions. Responsibilities Manage job cost tracking across multiple active projects, ensuring accuracy and proper cost allocation Monitor budgets vs. actuals and proactively identify cost variances and risks Prepare and maintain Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and support revenue recognition Generate and distribute project-level financial reports for Project Managers and leadership Support pre-construction efforts, including cost tracking, budget setup, and bid support Assist with project bidding, including cost analysis, historical data review, and coordination with estimating teams Prepare and review pay applications (AIA forms) and support billing processes Review labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material costs for accuracy and proper coding Support certified payroll reporting and compliance requirements Assist with month-end and year-end close processes related to project financials Collaborate with Project Managers and Bookkeeping team to maintain accurate and timely financial data Qualifications 3+ years of construction project accounting experience, preferably in heavy civil or underground utilities Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and project financials Experience with pre-construction processes and project bidding Proficiency with pay applications and AIA billing formats Advanced skills in Excel and experience using Smartsheet for tracking and reporting Experience with QuickBooks Online Advanced (or similar accounting systems) Familiarity with certified payroll and prevailing wage projects preferred Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with field and office teams
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
