Job Description
Vaco is partnering with a well-established organization in the Canton/Litchfield area that's looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team. This is a great opportunity to join a highly respected company known for its strong culture, collaborative environment, and hands-on leadership team. This is an in-office role offering strong exposure across the accounting function.
The role:
This position will support day-to-day accounting operations and requires a solid understanding of core accounting functions, including the full purchase and sales cycle, accrual accounting, and how it ties into AR, AP, inventory, and cost of goods sold. It's a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are key.Key responsibilities include:
Managing AP/AR, general ledger activity, and bank reconciliations Preparing financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) Supporting month-end and year-end close processes Preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records Handling account reconciliations, including intercompany and inventory Maintaining fixed assets Supporting audit and tax processes, including year-end workpapers Preparing and filing sales tax, fuel tax, and other regulatory filings Assisting with reporting and ad hoc projectsQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related experience) 3-5 years of general accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Great Plains, QuickBooks, JDE, Sage) Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills High attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.
