Job Description

Senior Accountant About the Opportunity Our client, a growing and stable organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting function, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities Lead month-end and year-end close activities. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals. Maintain and analyze general ledger activity. Prepare internal financial reports and supporting schedules. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities as needed. Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Assist with audits and provide documentation to internal and external auditors. Identify process improvements and support accounting system enhancements. Collaborate with operations, finance, and leadership teams on ad hoc projects and reporting needs. Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting or public accounting. Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close procedures. Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Preferred Qualifications CPA or CPA track preferred. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Prior experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation. Exposure to manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or service-based environments. Experience identifying and implementing process improvements. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
