Position SummaryThe Investment Staff Accountant is responsible for recording, reconciling and analyzing investment transactions on a monthly basis. This position will also assist in the preparation of investment reports on a US and Canadian GAAP and Statutory basis. This position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. The Investment Staff Accountant will directly report to the Investment Accounting Manager. This position will include but not be limited to the following: Essential Duties Records investment transactions and valuations to the general ledger
Matches cash transactions to trading activity in Princeton Asset Management System
Reconciles general ledger to supporting system reports
Assists in the preparation of standard and ad hoc investment reports and schedules on a US GAAP, Canadian GAAP and US Statutory basis of accounting
Corresponds with investment advisors and custodian banks
Maintains confidentiality of company-sensitive data
Keeps supervisor informed of activities and situations which will impact the achievement of corporate and department goals and objectives
Performs other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the company and department
Quarterly overtime hours are required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Strong communication and analytical skills
Experience with Princeton Asset Management System preferred but not required
Experience with SAP general ledger preferred but not required
Experience in the insurance industry preferred but not required Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting
