Overview and Responsibilities Summary We are seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant for our Accounting department. This position is responsible for daily, weekly and monthly activities related to essential accounting and reporting functions; assists in the maintenance of the G/L, month-end close and financial reporting requirements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complies with Standard Operating Procedures & Policies Prepares and maintains accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies Performs assigned duties in connection with month-end close process Collaboration with various teams to ensure proper information is received for coding invoices Performs data entry input in connection with preparation of reports Prepares weekly payroll entries Responsible for Prepaid Schedules Prepares Allocations and Accruals Prepares and enters journal entries Prepares General Ledger account reconciliations to explain variances from prior periods and/or budget Ability to work in a team environment Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Responds to inquiries from internal and external parties Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Employment is contingent on Background investigation (company-wide) Drug screen (when applicable for the position) Valid driver's license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position) Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar degree from an accredited university is preferred Five to seven years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment Prior work experience in closing the books/month end close Oracle experience preferred, but not required.
