Senior Accountant

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry , with a deep understanding of job costing, financial reporting, and compliance . Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is essential. A degree in Accounting or Finance is required. This role will play a key part in overseeing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations , including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance . Conduct detailed job costing analysis and collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting. Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts to maintain precise financial records. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements , including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and job cost analysis . Budget preparation and financial forecasting , providing variance analysis and strategic recommendations. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements . Assist with year-end audits , tax filings, and coordination with external auditors. Develop and maintain internal financial controls and best practices to improve efficiency. Support leadership and project teams by providing financial insights and data-driven recommendations. Oversee month-end and year-end closings to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications:

Experience:

5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry is required.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (advanced knowledge preferred).

Knowledge:

Strong expertise in job costing principles, project accounting, and financial reporting .

Leadership:

Ability to supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as needed.

Organizational Skills:

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Multitasking:

Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously .

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

Analytical Skills:

Excellent ability to analyze financial data and present clear, actionable insights to management.

Pay:

$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
