Job Description

Senior Accountant We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our property management team. This role is specialized; you won't just be managing numbers but overseeing the unique financial landscape of mobile home communities, including mobile home closings, utility billing, and complex multi-entity reporting. You will also be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial information by recording, verifying, and consolidating transactions. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in dealing with transactions involving multiple locations while maintaining a clear "big picture" view of portfolio health. This person should be familiar with cash-based accounting. This person would would be on-site in Bradenton Corporate Office location.
Key Responsibilities Full-Cycle Accounting:
Manage the month-end and year-end close process for a portfolio of mobile home communities. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
Revenue Management:
Oversee rent rolls, process rent increases, security deposits, and specialized revenue streams such as home sales, notes receivable, and park-owned home rentals.
AP Oversight:
Coordinate the billing and reconciliation of various vendors including utilities ensuring that all bills have been paid in the appropriate month.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive monthly financial packages, including balance sheets, income statements, and variance analysis for ownership and stakeholders.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to automate or streamline accounting workflows to increase efficiency and data accuracy.
Insurance Oversight:
Verifying all insurance has been renewed/cancelled or purchased. That all policies have been paid timely and properly disbursed by each company as necessary.
Fixed Assets & Tax:
Manage fixed asset depreciation schedules and assist with tax filings and compliance tasks.
Tax & Compliance:
Assist with property tax filings, 1099 reporting, sales tax filings and ensuring compliance with state-specific mobile home residency laws and statutes.
Required Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of professional accounting experience. Previous experience in property management is required (Mobile Home Park or Multifamily experience is highly preferred).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA or CMA designation is a plus. •
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in property management software (e.g., Manage America, Camp Spot, AppFolio, or Rent Manager ). o Advanced Excel skills o Experience with ERP systems such as Quickbook Enterprise o Experience with AP software products such as Bill and AvidX.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of cash-based accounting, and specialized utility billing cycles.
Desired Attributes Analytical Mindset:
Ability to spot trends in delinquency or expense spikes before they become systemic issues.
Process Improvement:
A proactive approach to streamlining accounting workflows and implementing internal controls.
Communication:
Ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial site managers and community owners.
